Here is what our friend and patient Carol says:
"I went to Dr. Wang for sinus problems and also mentioned bladder urgency. It was so bad I was always looking for the closest bathroom. He said he could fix it.
Wow! I had been doing Kegel exercises with no luck.
After 3 sessions and taking Chinese tea, I could see an amazing improvement!
I would never have thought acupuncture could help bladder urgency.
Thank you Dr. Wang."

Today I would like to share with you what to do with bladder urgency, a common symptom of OAB - overactive bladder.
According to Chinese medicine theory, bladder urgency happens when people's kidney and bladder energy gets low. In Chinese medical term, it's called kidney Qi deficiency.
The way to correct this condition is very straight forward, to boost kidney Qi/energy. It can be done through acupuncture and/or herbal medicine, and often, no special exercises, diet or behavior change are required, at all.
As far as acupuncture points, I find Kidney 3, 7, Ren 6, 4 are useful.
As far as herbal medicines, I found herbs like Yi Zhi Ren, Wu Yao, Shan Yao, Long Gu and Sang Piao Xiao to be helpful. Usually I combined or put them together- it's called formula, in this case, the bladder support formula, so the results can be better.
Bladder urgency is a very common condition Chinese medicine treats. More and more suffers of bladder urgency are turning to acupuncture and Chinese tea.
All three acupuncturists, Dr. Jin, Dr. Zhang and Dr. Wang here at Acupuncture Plus treat it. And both Dr. Jin and Zhang are female doctors.
